Reutzel tops opening night of Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic

WARRNAMBOOL, VIC, Austrailia — On night one of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Premier Speedway, Texas native Aaron Reutzel solidified himself as a clear favourite by winning the opening qualifying night. He secured a feature win and a $10,000 prize, earning a spot in the Gold Scramble on Sunday night.

A race filled with drama unfolded as Kerry Madsen surrendered the early lead, paving the way for a top four lockout by American competitors and creating an action-packed night.

Several past 'Classic' participants would encounter challenging situations leading up to Sunday.

A riveting four-way contest in the early laps set the stage for an exciting Super Rods feature at Premier Speedway for the 2023/24 J&D Race Parts Track Championship. Jacob Pitcher emerged victorious in round 1, ahead of Round 2 to-night.

Join us for “The Standard” Fan Appreciation Day at the Warrnambool Showgrounds starting from 10am.
The Fan Day is a public free event with a giant slide and face painting for the kids with a strong attendance from the competing teams.

Reutzel courtesy of his win locks himself on the front row of the Gold Scramble Sunday night. With Reutzel's points no longer factoring in his 2024 assault, the top forty-seven in points earn a spot on Sunday night.

The remainder of the field will compete Saturday night to determine the final qualifiers for Sunday nights final.
