Aaron Reutzel wins Grand Annual Classic in Australia
WARRMAMBOOL, VIC, Austrailia — Aaron Reutzel has won Australia's most prestigious Sprint Car race the Grand Annual Classic at Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway. Reutzel inherited the lead on lap 9 of the 40-lap race when Sheldon Haudesnchild hit the cushion and turned sideways collecting third place runner James McFadden. The Clute, Texas driver was able to keep defending event winner Brock Hallett at bay through numberous race stoppages allthe way to the checkered flag. Lachie McHugh came home third. Jamie Veal came from the B-Main to fimish fourth as Jock Goodyer rounded out the top-five.
Reutzel. who won Friday night's preliminary feature, is the first American driver since 2015 to win the Classic.
