Fox Sports hopes that where there’s “Smoke” there’s likely to be fire—at least where Tony Stewart is concerned.

The three-time NASCAR Cup champion and Hall of Famer will join Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer in the broadcast booth for the inaugural Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum on Feb. 6 and the season-opening Daytona 500 on Feb. 20.

“Tony brings Hall-of-Fame credentials and one of the most informative and entertaining voices in motorsports,” said Brad Zager, FOX Sports President of Production & Operations and Executive Producer. “There is an obvious chemistry between Smoke and Clint, and there is no one better than Mike at bringing a broadcast all together.”

Stewart can certainly provide a necessary spark in the commentary after Jeff Gordon vacated his analyst seat to assume a greater role at Hendrick Motorsports. Stewart tested the waters with Bowyer, his former driver, and host Adam Alexander for the call of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway last year.

“To call the very first Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum AND the Daytona 500 is an opportunity you don’t pass up,” Stewart said. “The size and scope of both these races is massive, and it’s an honor to be a part of them with FOX. Anytime you get to talk racing with Clint and Mike, you’re going to have a good time.”

“America’s crew chief” Larry McReynolds will continue serving as the network’s NASCAR technical analyst. Regan Smith and Jamie Little will serve as pit reporters at the Clash. Vince Welch joins the program at Daytona. Fox plans to announce its full talent lineup at a later date.
