With severe weather predicted, Lucas Oil Speedway calls off Saturday night racing program
WHEATLAND, Mo. — With a round of severe weather expected to move into the area during the evening hours, Lucas Oil Speedway has canceled Saturday night's scheduled Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Big Adventure RV Weekly Championship Series Night at the Races.
"Based on what I am seeing and being told from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and Emergency Management Systems, we should see the next storm system from about race time, between 7 and 10 p.m.," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "Based on that, we feel it's best to cancel today's event so fans and racers are not caught here when the storm front arrives.
"I hate to call it when it's nice outdoors at the moment, but we have to look at what's best for everyone, and their safety, later this evening."
