Dover Extends Condolences for Stan Cisar

EAGLE, Nebr. — Jack Dover and the Dover Family would like to offer condolences to the family and friends of a long-time family friend and sponsor.

Stan Cisar passed away this week after battling cancer. The Dover Family knew Cisar for several decades, forming a business relationship that became a friendship.

"Stan Cisar was one of our best friends in business and personal life," Marc and Lori Dover said. "Not many people know, but he had one of the best bands in the area and we were lucky enough to have him play at our wedding 42 years ago. For years to follow, he was the go-to guy for everything that needed lettering, be it race cars, signs for the auto show or an entire work truck lettered so it could be on the road in the morning.

"There was a word that wasn't in Stan's vocabulary - 'no.' It wasn't an option. He always got it done and made it look top notch. One of the best things of all was listening to him call the races and then we would all head to Denny's for breakfast afterwards and do some serious bench racing at the table or lunch at Lansky's for some pizza.

"Not many people have been involved with our lives in business, racing or personally as Stan was. He was a great business associate and an even better friend and will be truly missed. We are all better for knowing him. God Speed, 'Voice.' I'm sure he will be calling all those races beyond the pearly gates now."

Cisar's Speedway Graphics, which he sold last year, has been a sponsor for Jack Dover since he first began competing in race cars and throughout his sprint car career.

"I've known him since I was a little kid," he said. "On the business side, he did the stickers for my parent's towing business and has been involved in my racing since I started. We all appreciated his support as a sponsor, but more importantly we appreciated him as a friend. He is missed."

Dover made his 410ci winged sprint car season debut last week during the Kubota High Limit Racing event at Eagle Raceway. He qualified 19 th quickest in his group before advancing a position to end ninth in a heat race. Dover won the C Main and picked up a pair of positions to place 12 th in the B Main.

"Qualifying is so important everywhere you race and when you go to these big shows you have to qualify up front to be a contender or at least midpack to be in a position to advance into the main event," he said. "We didn't do either so it was tough to make much progress against that level of competition."

Dover is unsure of the date of his next race.
