HUMBOLDT, Kansas — The Humboldt Speedway returned to action Friday night after a week off for the Ed Gressel Memorial Race at 81 Speedway. The Extrusions Inc. Midwest Mods were first up for the night. They would have 3 heat races which would see Devin Wetzel, Trevor Holman and Jacob Hall taking the checkers. That would set up a front row of Jacob Hall and Devin Wetzel for the A Feature. Both drivers are making their debuts against a tough crowd in this class. At the drop of the Rowe Motor Company green flag Wetzel would jump to an early lead with the field close behind. Jess Folk Jr. wheeling son Baron's car after semi retiring. As the race moved on Folk moved the 711 to the point only to be slowed by a few cautions during the latter part of the race Folk would hold off Devin Wetzel and he kept the pressure on right up to the checkered flag. Behind Folk would be Wetzel, Trevor Holman, Dylan Daniels and Clint Drake.

The Home Savings Bank Factory Stocks would be the next class up with Dallas Joyce picking up the heat race Blevins getting the heat race win. When the feature came to the green Jordan Blevins and Deann Aiello would bring them around. Blevins would grab the lead and looked to have the car to beat, but Rob Jones Jr. had other ideas. He was moving up from his 3rd row starting spot to battle for the lead. Jones would make a late race pass and go on to pick up his first win at The Humboldt Speedway followed by Blevins, Larry Trester, Travis Bockover and Deann Aiello.

The Ray's Metal Depot USRA B-Mods would close out the show with a tough field of cars. The heat races were won by Michael Taylor III and point leader Tyler Kidwell. The feature would see Tayor and Matt Kay on the front row with a tough crowd behind them. Michael Taylor would grab the early lead with the field bunched behind him. The battle for 2nd through 5th had the fans on their feet as Jerry Morgan, Dexton Daniels, Tyler Kidwell and Jon Sheets were trading spots each lap. Taylor would eventually grab the win followed by Sheets, Kidwell, mover of the night Dexton Daniels and Jerry Morgan completing the top 6.

The Humboldt Speedway will be back in action Friday July 5th with all 5 weekly classes and fireworks show courtesy of Aiello Fireworks. Make plans to join us for fireworks on and off the track!
