Logan Wagner goes back-to-back at Port Royal

PORT ROYAL, Pa. — Logan Wagner charged from his 8th starting position to the win on Saturday night to claim his 2nd win of the season in 410 competition behind the wheel of the Kreitz racing 69K.

Jake Karklin and Austin Bishop would make up the front row of the 25-lap A-main event, but it would be Jeff Halligan who would lead the opening lap with Logan Wagner making the pass on Bishop for 3rd on lap 2.

Halligan and Wagner would be on a class of their own over the next 14 laps breaking away from the field.

Wagner would make the pass on Halligan in turn 1 with 10 laps remaining and wouldn't look back, holding on for over a 7 second win over the rest of the field.

"I felt really good early," said Wagner in victory lane. "I feel like they keep giving me cars like that, we're going to keep winning."

Jeff Halligan would hold on for 2nd and Jake Karklin would round out the podium.

Logan Wagner would win the Valley Supply hard charger worth $500 and Jake Waters would win the J&S Classics Warrior Award after the 20 chip was drawn in victory lane and he was the 20th place finisher.

In Selinsgrove Ford super late model competition, Justin Weaver would lead from the opening lap to pick up his 2nd straight and 2nd overall win at Port Royal Speedway.

It wouldn't be without a late challenge though from Colton Flinner who would overtake Weaver with 6 laps remaining.

His pass wouldn't hold however as heavy lap traffic in front of the leads would slow Flinner enough for Weaver to retake the lead and never look back to hold on for the win.

Flinner would finish in 2nd and would claim the night's Lauver's Concessions Hard Charger award and Dillan Stake would finish in 3rd.

For the Zimmerman Truck Repair limited late models, Shawn Shoemaker would lead from wire to wire to claim the victory.

Trent Brenneman would make a few attempts for the lead on the inside of the corners but couldn't hold the speed to overtake and Shoemaker would claim his first victory of 2024.

Brenneman would hold on for 2nd and Ryan Zook would round out the podium.

Port Royal Speedway will be back in action on Saturday July 20th with Weikert Livestock 410 sprint cars, Penns Valley Meat Market PA Sprint Sprint Series 305 sprint cars and the wingless sportsman all presented by Bobby Rahal Toyota of Lewistown.
