KANSAS CITY,, Kansas — Ayrton Gennetten would use precision and precise timing to snatch victory with the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint in the Sunflower State Showcase presented by Start2Finish TV to notch his fifth league victory in an outstanding feature event at Lakeside Speedway in the caution free feature event.

Flying onto the smooth surface with talented entrants of the POWRi 410’s would see Brian Brown set a quick qualifying time of 14.120-second lap with Jason Martin and Xavier Doney each earning heat racing victories.

Captivating the crowd on the initial green flag start with high-point qualifier Brian Brown and Ayrton Gennetten lined up in the front row as Brian Brown would gain the lead on the opening lap with Ayrton Gennetten, Jason Martin, Austin McCarl, and Blake Hahn all raced within the top five.

Showing speed after gaining the initial lead, Brian Brown would appear to be the cream of the class as laps began to tick away at a rapid rate with Ayrton Gennetten moving into second with Austin McCarl taking third with the top three separating from the field.

Displaying outstanding action in an intense feature, late race dramatics would rear as Ayrton Gennetten would catch the front-running Brian Brown with five laps remaining as Austin McCarl would also show a nose on the low line for the top position.

Sliding into the lead late, Ayrton Gennetten would set Brian Brown up to perfection by showing low only to pass on the high side of turns three and four with only three laps remaining as Austin McCarl would gain ground and move into the runner up spot.

Leading the final revolutions, Ayrton Gennetten would not be denied in earning his fifth career POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint victory in an action-packed main event with Austin McCarl hustling into the runner-up position late.

“I was working on Brian all race, Once that flagman showed five to go I knew it was time to move.” said Ayrton Gennetten in the Kansas City Kansas victory lane ceremony celebrations. Adding, “I knew we had a fast car all night and a win like this shows just how far we have come as a team this year, what a fun race”.

Challenging closely behind would find leader of twenty-two laps Brian Brown placing on the final podium placement as Emerson Axsom would be among the frontrunners all feature to fourth with Xavier Doney rounding out the top-five finishers for the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints in the Sunflower State Showcase presented by Start2Finish at Lakeside Speedway.

SHIELDS, NOLL, BOYD POST WINS AT LAKESIDE SPEEDWAY

By RickStaley

KANSAS CITY, Kans. -- Another night of great racing action at Lakeside Speedway with three generations of announcers in the broadcast booth. We at Lakeside would like to thank all those that made it possible and especially you, the fans for your support. Special thanks to Natalie Doney for singing our National Anthem and Brian and Jonathan Peters for carrying our Nation and States Colors for opening ceremonies.

USRA Stock Cars always perform at the highest level and this night of racing action would be no different at Lakeside Speedway. Highflyers Jaylen Wettengel #91J and #42C of Kacey Shields would set the pace winning their heat races and racing side by side early in the feature. Chris Dishong #16S would be big mover of the feature working traffic to perfection challenging late with #74 Rodney Schweizer mixing it up as well in the front of the field. Shields would find the line out front and hold off all competitors to park in Nextran Victory Lane. Wettengel would place a very close second with Dishong third and Schweizer ending the feature fourth. Veteran Driver Gene Claxton #42 recovered from an early race mishap to end the night a solid fifth place showing.

E-Modified would see Zach Boyd #6 be the hot Driver going into this night of competition but would see fierce racing with heat race winners Jason Parks #79J and Vic Tranckino #21. Boyd would work to the front and hold off competitors Casey Burnett #23, in his first appearance of 2024, and Tranckino moving through the field. Current point leader in E-Mod, Paul Lanfermann #16L would make his presence felt with consistency throughout the feature as the laps slipped away. Boyd would not be denied and pick up the feature win with Tranckino second and Burnett third. Lanfermann would hold the point lead by placing fourth with Parks fading slightly to finish fifth.

Pure Stock would see #43 JR Billings and #20X Don Marrs win heat races and start at the front of the field. Billings would move out front early with Marrs on his quarter panel and Ed Noll #15 challenging. Current point leader John Snyder #6 and #25 Tim Billings would flex their muscles as well running and hunting the leaders. Noll would make the move past Marrs and Billings a little past mid race to take lead and never look back. Noll would park in Nextran Victory Lane with hard racing behind for position with JR Billings second and Marrs third. Snyder would race smooth and consistent to place fourth with the always fast Tim Billings rounding out the night’s top five finishers.
