BETHANY, Mo. — July 27-Local names were the theme much of the night at Bethany Speedway Saturday Night. 56 cars rolled in to try to win one of the 5 features on hand. The racing was some of the best racing Bethany has had this year.

The Emod class took to the racing surface to start the features. #14H Blake Hayes has been gaining on the field every week. This week, he couldn't gain any more. Hayes led every lap to pick up his first win of the 2024 season. #23J Casey Burnett took a couple laps to work into 2nd. He would hang with Hayes for a couple laps om 2 different restarts, but end up 2nd. #243 Brayden Abrams looked good standing strong to finish third. #16E, Rookie driver, Johnny Eads gained a couple spots to 4th while #Y2K Coleman Browning ended up fifth.

The Pure Stock class was treated to a $730 win with some late week sponsors adding to the pot. #11J Jake Starmer has won all but one time this year. As he jumped out to the lead on lap one he looked to be on his way again. But on a restart at midrace Starmer jumped to the inside. #55T Mich Ross who had been running second spun the tires bad on the restart, and #15 Ed Noll took the lead around turn one and two. Ross quickly moved back up to battle for the lead. Noll would hold on to win. Ross was second as Starmer slid back into a battle with #17c Alvie Christofferson. They would finish third and fourth. #3A Ava Dixon finished fifth.

After the first couple laps in the Bmod feature, the top 4 cars were all running on the bottom. #17c Chris Leathers and #66x Chris Wright jumped to one and two. A couple laps before half way #27 Tyler O'Neal changed lames and went to the top and leaned on the cushion. He slowly started catching the leaders until the they came up on a lapped car. That let O'Neal get beside the leader, but a yellow came out. As they went back to green, O'Neal went right back to the top. At this point, #27J Koby Rigsby had found himself on the outside also. O'Neal fought off a couple challenges to pick up his first win ever. Rigsby was back and forth with Leathers until the last few laps when he cleared himself into second. Leathers and Wright finished thitd and fourth. #52B Brandon Barnes started shotgun on the field. Gained spots to fifth. Spun. Then got himself back up to fifth for the finish.

Stock Cars had a stacked field to battle for $1000. #37 Randy Foote jumped out to the lead from the outside front row. He brought #74 Rodney Schweizer with him to the front from the outside of row two. Schweizer would stick the nose inside Foote a couple times but at halfway slipped over the back stretch bank. As he came back on, a red flag came out for a car over turn three. The restart put Schweizer back in second. Foote would slowly stretch his lead to take home $1000. Schweizer fall back into a battle with #20J Jayden Beats but hold him off for second. Beats third. #34x Mich Ross ran fourth with #12x Matthew Lance fifth.

The Compact class would cap the night with #9x Samuel Moore leading all the laps to another win. #76B Johnathon Hartman, making his first appearance at Bethany, showed some strength finishing second. #5J Jeremy Sims finished third. #13U Dylan Bruhn was fourth. And #22V Zeph Kendall is still dealing with some bugs after being upside down the last race but finished fifth.

This Saturday, August 2, is Back to School Night at Bethany. With the same five classes.
