Tony Jackson Jr. Continues Domination of CCSDS Outlaw Motor Speedway Action
OKTAHA, Okla. — Friday night found the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Super Late Models returning to Outlaw Motor Speedway for the first time since 2017, and for the third time in as many tries, Tony Jackson Jr. conquered the series’ visit to the Oklahoma oval.
Jackson Jr. made a clean sweep of the night by setting fast time, winning his heat race, and then ultimately claiming the $5,000 victory.
“Yeah it was (a perfect night). Man, I got a lot of people to thank, we’re gonna run out of battery in this thing,” an emotional Jackson said. “First and foremost, I want to thank Rob (Schlup) and his wife Liz ... I wouldn’t be standing here, literally, without them. I want to thank Vinny (Guliani of VG Performance), he’s the guy, you know. I used to win races with him, got sidetracked a little bit the last few years and got back hooked up with him .. (now) I’m back in the same spot.”
From the NewVisionCustomShirts.com Pole Position Jackson Jr. bolted to the lead at the start of the track’s Back to School Night, and then led all 30 laps to snare his 11th career CCSDS triumph.
Fifth-starting Timothy Culp finished second with Clay Stuckey, Scott Crigler, and Austin Smith completing the Top-5 finishers.
Action shifts to Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on Saturday, August 10 for the tour’s second appearance of 2024 at the ¼-mile oval. Back in April Clayton Stuckey charged from the 19th-starting position to claim his first CCSDS win.
The facility also will feature a Back to School Night presented by Mercy Health Foundation with the first 200 kids through the gate receiving a drawstring bag and a water bottle. POWRi MW Modzs B, Legend Cars, POWRi Pure Stocks, POWRi B-Mod, and POWRi FWD classes will each join the CCSDS contingent in contesting a complete program.
The pit gate opens at 3:30 p.m. with the grandstand gate opening at 5:45 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:35 p.m. with racing action at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission (ages 13-and-up) is $25 with senior citizens / military admission $23, kids (ages 6-12) $5, and children (ages 5-and-under) free. Pit admission (ages 15-and-up) is $40 with kids (ages 6-14) $15 and children (ages 5-and-under) free.
