Continuous Heavy Showers Cancel Thursday WOO Late Model Program at Spoon River Speedway

LEWISTOWN, Ill. — Due to overnight rain showers and noon-time rains making landfall at Spoon River Speedway and weather models showing more inclement weather to come, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model and track officials have canceled Thursday’s racing program.

The decision was made after working closely with Precision Weather Service and keeping the best interest of driver safety and traveling race fans in mind. The Series plans to return to the Lewistown, IL track in 2025, with a date to be announced at a later time.

If you purchased a ticket in advance for the World of Outlaws for Thursday’s event at Spoon River Speedway, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account – good for two years – to be used toward any World of Outlaws event available at WorldofOutlaws.com/tix. If a credit to your account does not work for you, then you have until Sept. 15 to request a refund.

The World of Outlaws CASE Late Models now sets its sights on the final 2024 race weekend in Iowa for the Hawkeye 100 at Maquoketa Speedway on Friday-Saturday, Aug. 16-17.

In addition to the racing on the track at Maquoketa, there will be off-track activities for fans to enjoy on Saturday, including a car show from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., a kids zone from 12 p.m.-4 p.m., the Hoker Trucking Toys for Tots donation drive, a driver autograph session at 4:30 p.m., and a cornhole tournament starting at 12:30 p.m.

New Berlin, IL driver Brandon Sheppard leads the Series standings over Mooresville, NC driver Nick Hoffman by 46 points. Oakwood, IL driver Bobby Pierce sits 72 points back in third place.
