GRAIN VALLEY, MO. — Saturday night at Valley Speedway, Cody Baker validated his big win at the Weld Memorial last weekend by becoming the first driver to win back-to-back points paying races with the Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Car Series in 2024.

For the (Lone Jack, Mo) racer competing behind the wheel of the THR 9H owned and wrenched by his grandfather Ted Hall, this victory also represented their fourth MWRA feature win all-time together in points paying events. And came after Baker drove to a hard fought win in the 25 lap affair over (Topeka, Ks) point leader Wyatt Burks driving the WBR 11w, Chad Goff of (Spring Hill, Ks) running the CGM 9, Wesley Smith (Nixa, Mo), driving the John Helm 12, and Luke Howard (Overland Park, Ks) chauffeuring the LHR 2H, to round out the top five respectively. With Goff getting his first podium this season advancing from 8th to 3rd. And Smith winning the Country Kids Day Care of Olathe Hard Charger award, after charging from 12th to 4th on a juiced up track at Dennis Shrouts Valley Speedway.
On this beautiful summers night for sprint car racing, early leader Zach Clark of (Raymore, Mo), would finish sixth, Dakota Earls (Independence, Mo) seventh, Justin Johnson (KCK) eighth, Chad Winfrey (Gladstone, Mo) ninth, and Junior Parkinson (Wichita Falls, Tx) in 10th.

Earlier in the evening, Burks would earn his fifth heat race win for 2024 with the MWRA to earn high point honors. While Baker took his third heat win with the MWRA this season.

The Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Series will be next in action on September 7th at I-35 Speedway, and then back to Valley Speedway for the Helm Memorial on September 28th to complete the 2024 campaign.
