Gaddis Wins Again in Heartland Modified Tour at Ark-La-Tex Speedway

VIVIAN, La. — It was a case of “home sweet home” for Diana, Texas racer Sean Gaddis who piloted his MB Customs to his second career USRA ARMS Presented by Day Motor Sports victory, claiming two of the three events completed at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway, in Vivian, Louisiana this season.

Firing from the outside of the front row, Gaddis and Manuel Williams II immediately went head to head during the first green flag stretch. Gaddis threw slider after slider at Williams, coming up short on each attempt.

“Racing with Williams was fun early, we were both driving the cars as hard as we could,” said Gaddis after the race. “The MB Customs car was on a rail last night no matter where I wanted it to go. When I was lapping people, I didn’t expect the car to be as good as it was on the bottom. It’s pretty special to win two ARMS races this year and both at my home track. I wish the wins were last year when I was running for points, but it is what it is. With as good as the car is right now I’m ready to race more this season but we only have a couple more races to go to so we will see.”

After the races first caution waved, Williams missed the cushion in turn two allowing Gaddis to assume the lead. From there Gaddis opened up a multiple car length lead as  Ark-La-Tex favorite Chris Henigan was hunting from his sixth place starting position.

A final caution, with 13 laps to go, put Henigan right on the fuel cell of Gaddis, but rather than a fight for the lead, Henigan was forced to wrestle with Jason Ingalls, whose father, Doug, was being honored at the event.

Gaddis crossed the checkers first, with Ingalls, Henigan, Jason Webb, and Drake Findley completing the top five.

Heat races were won by; Sean Gaddis, Jason Ingalls, Drake Findley and Sam Osman. Originally the Doug Ingalls Classic was slated for two nights of action. However, it was cut to one night with the facility too wet for racing on Friday evening.

The final USRA ARMS Presented by Day Motor Sports event for the season is slated for Thursday, November 7, at Heart 'O Texas Speedway in Elm Mott, Texas. This event will be ran the night prior to the USMTS two day championship weekend.
