Brandon Anderson Suspended by ASCS and WRG After Actions at Arrowhead

CONCORD, N.C. — American Sprint Car Series officials have issued a fine and year-long suspension to Sprint Car driver Brandon Anderson for his dangerous and unsportsmanlike actions at Arrowhead Speedway on Sept. 14, 2024.

During the American Sprint Car Series National Tour Feature at Arrowhead Speedway, Anderson, in the No. 55B car, got into the wall entering Turn 1. While he was trying to get off the wall, Alex Sewell, in the No. 8 car, turned to avoid him but slid into the No. 55B. After the two cars were untangled, Anderson proceeded to drive into the side of the No. 8 car wide open.

Sewell’s car was damaged and had no steering or brakes, causing his car to turn into the infield and run into a safety worker’s vehicle. Anderson then disregarded any commands over the in-car radio and went through the infield at a high rate of speed, putting a photographer and safety workers in danger, and proceeded to go after the No. 8 car – all while being told to take his car to the pit area. Anderson then exited out of his car and got into a confrontation with Sewell.

Due to the violations, Anderson has been suspended for one calendar year from all American Sprint Car Series and World Racing Group sanctioned events until Sept. 14, 2025 and fined $5,000.
