Goepferich and Noll Steal the Show at Lakeside Speedway in Pure Stock

Kansas City, Kansas — Lakeside Speedway would like to thank all Drivers, Crews, Workers, Rescue Service, and Fans for another night of great racing action. Special thanks to all drivers that came up during Intermission to sign autographs and pass out hero cards to all the kids. Next Friday night will see Malvern Bank SMLR Late Models, Show-Me Vintage and Pure Stock with Saturday Evening the Pay Up Sucker Demo Derby comes to “Crash em and Smash em”! Make those plans now.

Pure Stock would roar to the track and as always put on a feature of epic proportions for all fans in attendance. #15 Ed Noll, #15E Eddy Noll and #56 Joseph Smith Jr would win their perspective heat races creating a Noll Father and Son front row for the feature. Ed Noll would take the lead at the drop of the green flag as fierce racing would duel behind the leader. Smith would take his turn challenging as well as the always fast Spencer Reiff #7 who would get to the side of Noll numerous times.  Reiff would challenge Noll consistently until Jeff Goepferich Jr #67 would find the fast line to pass Reiff and set his sights on Noll. Goepferich would use a late race caution to remount a charge and pass Noll on the inside to take over the lead with Noll fighting back for the front. Goepferich would not look back and not be denied taking his second win of 2024 at Lakeside Speedway parking and celebrating in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane. Noll would settle for second with Reiff a solid third on the night. Fourth place would belong to #15E Eddy Noll with the always consistent #7 Marshall Jewett rounding out the night’s top five finishers.

E-Modified would see #51 Corey Myers and #61 Jeff DeGroot win heat races to set the stage for their feature. Myers would take the lead early and appear to be the car to beat as point leader #47 Paul Carter would challenge. DeGroot would also be in the mix until contact would force him to the rear of the field with #41 Chris Dishing mounting a charge to the front. On a late race restart, Myers would lose a left rear spring allowing Dishong to close in and challenge for the lead. Myers would not be shaken and pick up his second win in a row at Lakeside Speedway parking in Nextran Victory Lane. Dishong would finish a solid second with Carter third and DeGroot revamping to place fourth. Jeff Goepferich Sr #5J would see another solid night ending the feature fifth place.

The heat race winners for Stock Car were #44 James Nighswonger and #00 Nick Whalen to set the stage and front row of their perspective feature. Whalen would take the lead on the drop of the green flag only to cut down a tire from contact with Nighswonger heading into turn #1. Nighswonger would take over the lead on the ensuing green only to see caution rear its ugly head again and again throughout the feature. Nighswonger would continue to lead in a caution riddled feature with challenges from #14 Larry Ferris and a charging Kevin Anderson #417.  Anderson would challenge Ferris on the inside until contact would send Anderson spinning and to pit road with a flat right front tire. Eddie Engram #54 would be fast the entire feature and challenge for the lead with Buz Caster #54 on Engram’s back bumper. When the smoke cleared, feature complete, post-race inspection finished, Nighswonger would park in Nextran Victory Lane with Engram second and Gene Claxton #27C third. Caster would end the feature fourth with Jason Newman #111 placing a solid fifth place on the night.
