Hurricane Helene Forces Brownstown Postponement and Atomic Cancelation
BATAVIA, Ohio — This weekend's 45th Annual Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, has been postponed. In addition, Tuesday’s event at Atomic Speedway has been canceled.
The remnants of Hurricane Helene are expected to reach the Tri-State area on Friday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds through early next week.
Brownstown Speedway and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series officials are actively exploring a possible make-up for the 45th Annual Jackson 100. An announcement regarding the event is expected next week.
Tuesday’s event at Atomic Speedway, which features the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Kubota High Limit Racing Series, will not be rescheduled.
The next Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event will be a doubleheader at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The 36th Annual Pittsburgher, presented by Big River Steel, will feature two complete events. Friday's event will include a $10,000 to win A-Main, while Saturday's finale will have a $50,000 prize.
