Karrick, Noll, Wettengel and Carter Claim Lakeside Track Championships

Kansas City, Kansas — We at Lakeside Speedway would again like to thank all Drivers, Crews, Staff, and Fans for another stellar night of racing action. We look forward to next Friday Night as we will have four classes of competition and expect a smooth track and great racing.

Pure Stocks would roar to the perfectly prepared Lakeside Speedway Track with a point championship to be decided. Point leader #15 Ed Noll after winning his heat race, would waste no time taking the lead and setting a blistering pace for the field to follow. Spencer Reiff #7 would also win his heat and challenge Noll early both high side and low side with other heat race winner Kalub Jones #46 in the mix for the lead as well. Noll would hold steady out front until a very fast Chase Galvan #0 would mount a charge to the back bumper of Noll mid race. Galvan would make the move and take over the front moving Noll to second with Don Marrs #20X challenging Noll. Second place in points #6 John Snyder would do everything possible to get to the front but fell a few places short but still had a stellar year. Galvan would pick up his second win at Lakeside Speedway in 2024 celebrating in Nextran Victory Lane as Ed Noll would finish second and celebrate a Track Championship. Marrs would place third with Snyder fourth and Reiff rounding out the night’s top five.

E-Mod would see Paul Carter #47 need only start the feature to clinch the 2024 Track Championship and he would do just that claiming the title. Heat race winners were #8 Devin Dultmeier, Corey Myers #51, and #29 Dennis Melvin. On the drop of the green Devin Dultmeier would take the lead only to see Myers fly by on the outside and set the pace early. Jason Park was fast early but mechanical issues would force him from contention and into the infield as Melvin would challenge the leaders. Enter Cole Ryun #1 in the picture for the front as he would run down Myers and challenge with Kyle Henning #116 battling for the lead. Jeff Goepferich Sr #5J would see another solid race among the leaders securing his place in the points battle. Point leader Carter would battle second place in points Paul Lanfermann to the last lap and pick up the 2024 Championship. Myers would not be denied and park in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane with Ryun a very close second place on the night. Third would go to Henning with Goepferich Sr fourth and #18T Ashton Taylor impressive with a top five finish on the night.

Chris Dishong #16S, 91J Jaylen Wettengel and #19 Josh Everhart would each win their perspective heat races to set the field of competitors for a full field of USRA Stock Cars. Wettengel would win the 2024 Track Championship at Lakeside Speedway and then set his sights on the checkers. Austin Bouzek #14 would charge to the front early backing up a solid second place heat race finish as Chris Dishong and Everhart would battle behind the leader. Everhart would fade slightly with a fast Wettengel moving to the front challenging Dishong for second as Bouzek would continue to lead. Bouzek would see the checkers first on this night in his first appearance of 2024 at Lakeside and celebrate in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane with Track Champion Wettengel coming home second. Dishong would place third with Everhart fourth and Hall of Famer Buz Kaster #54 placing a solid fifth on the night.

Heat race winners in USRA B-Mods were #57 Stephen Clancy, 1K Tim Karrick, and #68 Kerry Davis to set the stage for a great feature event. Karrick would clinch the 2024 USRA B-Mod Track Championship and take the lead early making a statement to the rest of the field to follow. Stephen Clancy and Kerry Davis would challenge early with Jake Richards #7J flexing muscle as well racing side by side for the front. Shadren Turner #56 would slice and dice through traffic to challenge late but Karrick was in command. The “Legend”, Karrick would win heat race, Feature and Track Championship on this night making his mark in history at Lakeside Speedway. As Karrick celebrated in Nextran Victory Lane, Turner would place second with Davis third. Richards would race to the line in fourth with Clancy rounding out the night’s top five finishers.
