ST. MARYS, Ohio — Tyler Erb added another coveted win over the weekend with a $20,000 triumph in Saturday’s Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park aboard his Bulk Material Lift / Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports / Anthony’s Pizza / First Class Septic / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The New Waverly, Texas, driver repelled 2023 Coors Light Fall Classic winner Ashton Winger to record his 18th win of the season.

“I tried not to get too crazy too quick. I hated when Ashton (Winger) got by early, cause I was just like ‘Here we go again,’ ” Erb said. “I ran the bottom of (turns) one and two really, really hard and kinda told myself ‘I can do it, I’m just gonna blow the deck out’ and obviously I did … we caught lapped traffic there and thankfully they were on the bottom cause it just made it a little easier on me ... we raced super, super hard and really clean. It’s fun, that’s all you can ask for.”

The doubleheader weekend at the Mississippi track officially kicked off Friday afternoon for the Best Performance Motorsports team with dual $3,000-to-win preliminary features.

With the quarter-mile oval drawing 51 Super Late Models, Erb rebounded in his heat with a seventh-to-third run after a mid-pack qualifying effort. Rolling off on the fourth row for his 30-lap feature, Tyler steered to a sixth-place finish.

In a stronger start on Saturday evening, Tyler laid down the fifth-fastest lap in his qualifying group before placing first in his heat. Lined up fourth for Saturday night’s Coors Light Fall Classic main event, Erb won a thrilling battle over Ashton Winger to secure the $20,000 top prize. After Winger powered ahead on lap 56, Erb sailed past on the ensuing circuit and led the final four laps to pick up the win, his 18th overall of the season.

Winger, Mike Marlar, Dennis Erb Jr., and Cade Dillard rounded out the Top-5 finishers in the 60-lap affair.
