TEXARKANA, Ark. — Sadly, Mother Nature has intervened for the second year in a row with a forecast calling for rain all weekend; the decision has been made to cancel the Short Track Nationals at Texarkana 67 Speedway.
"We have spent the last few days watching the weather, losing sleep, doing numbers, and more in regard to the Short Track Nationals. As racers ourselves, we know what it’s like to drive all that way to get rained out and spend unnecessary money, especially during today’s times," stated Tim Crawley on the track's Facebook Page.
"Calling this race was definitely not what we wanted to do, but we feel it’s the best option. This gives racers and fans plenty of time to make other plans, cancel rooms, etc. We have already started on some big things for 2025, and we can only hope Mother Nature will be kinder to us."
Fans and teams who entered and purchased tickets online will be refunded through MyRacePass.com. Any questions regarding refunds need to be directed to Texarkana 67 Speedway.
The cancelation marks the end of the 2024 season for the MYCO Plastics ASCS Elite Outlaw Sprints, and makes Marcus Thomas this year series champion.
The 2024 season marks the 33rd season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours encompassing Wing and Non-Wing competition.
