Look for Lucas Oil Speedway team at annual Sertoma Chili Cook on Saturday in Springfield
WHEATLAND, Mo. — During a cold, snowy winter week it’s a perfect time to serve up some chili. That’s exactly what the Lucas Oil Speedway cooking team will be doing on Saturday at the annual Sertoma Chili Cookoff in downtown Springfield.
Stop by the Lucas Oil Speedway at booths 40 and 41 inside the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis Street, to sample and vote for the track’s award-winning chili as more than 50 teams will be competing for "best chili" bragging rights.
In addition to having the chili and talking racing with the Lucas Oil Speedway team, sign up for a raffle to win race tickets for the upcoming season and pick up free schedule cards and assorted other items.
Tickets are $20, but score an additional $5 discount by using the discount code SPEEDWAY at sertomachilicookoff.com.
The event runs from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. with nine bands scheduled to play on the main stage.
The Sertoma Clubs are non-profit organizations that focus on raising money for charity, primarily sponsoring children charities in the Springfield and surrounding community. The area Sertoma Clubs focus on the needs of at-risk youth in southwest Missouri. Throughout eight clubs, they give on average of over $300,000 per year to these causes.
