Rain Stops Williams Grove Opener
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Racing at Williams Grove Speedway fell victim to rain on Friday night as the track made its third attempt at getting the season opener in the books.
Light to moderate rains hit the oval just as gates opened and the sprint cars and super sportsman began entering the pits.
The decision to cancel the event was made just after 6 pm when it became clear that that the rainfall would persist for at least another hour.
The 2025 season opening event for the 410 and 358 sprint cars will now be next Friday, April 4 when it will be Fast Tees Night.
Hundreds of Fast Tees tote bags will be given out as fans enter the general admission gates with select bags including a $10 gift certificate to Williams Grove Speedway.
