WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Racing returns to the hallowed grounds of Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) this Saturday as the 2025 officially begins. Drivers and fans can expect an exciting season full of weekly racing and special events.
For weekly action, the track will run unsanctioned B-Mods and Pure Stocks, while the POWRi group returns to sanction races for Super Stocks and Midwest Mods.
One noticeable change for drivers in all divisions this season is the removal of the “track” registration fee. The hope is drivers will venture to CMS even if it is not their regular track and we will see a loyal group of followers week in and week out.
There are several general race rules changes that go into effect this season. We strongly encourage drivers and fans to review the rules, particularly the areas highlighted in red font, which indicates a change from previous seasons. The revised general race rules may be found at www.centralmissourispeedway.net, under the Rules/Forms link.
Revisions include a designated start zone in which front row cars remain side-by-side until they reach the area. The track will no longer utilize the orange wall marker and white start line in turn four. Another major change comes with officials making majority-based decisions regarding a driver’s “involvement” in yellow and red flag on-track incidents.
Drivers who recently reserved pit stalls must pay for these spots on opening night or make special arrangements by contacting the track if they are unable to attend the opening night. The reserved pit stalls are $100 for the season.
Admission Prices: $15 Adult Gen Adm - Seniors 65 to 74 $12, $6 Kids Ages 6 to 12 with Kids 5 and Under Free. FREE: Seniors 75 and Up - Confined to Wheelchair. All Pit Passes are $35 regardless of age. Pit Gate opens at 4:30, Admission Gates at 5. The cutoff for drivers to check-in for racing is 6:15 (late check-ins will not earn passing points). The pit meeting takes place at 6:30, followed by practice “hot” laps at 7, with racing to follow at approximately 7:30.
There are two immediate openings at the track. The first being an experienced live feed camera operator. This person will film the races throughout the night and work closely with the LED display board operator and chief scorers. The second open position is the LED display board operator. This person should be fluent in basic computer operations, have knowledge of electronics and connectivity expertise. Both of these are paid positions. Contact Sam at 660.909.1083 for additional information.
Additionally, the track will return to offering a 50/50 drawing, with a special account for a driver’s point fun at the end of the season. We are looking for an energetic, friendly, and athletic ticket seller who is not afraid to interact with the crowd, dress the part, and sell tickets to the fans and drivers to bulk up the points fund. Contact Susan Walls at (816) 229-1338, no calls after 8 pm please. The ticket seller will earn a portion of their total sales.
This week’s scheduled food truck vendors include Knot Hedz Mobile, featuring one of the most expansive food truck menus in the local area, and El Paisa Little Red Wagon. The track will not serve “hot” foods from its concessions windows. Soft drinks, beer and seltzers, and light snacks will be available on each side of the speedway.
