Rain Washes Out Friday Racing at Talladega, Saturday Remains On As Scheduled
EASTABOGA, Ala. — Due to heavy rain and thunderstorms impacting the Eastaboga, AL area on Friday evening, officials from the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision, United Sprint Car Series and Talladega Short Track have agreed to cancel the Friday portion of the Alabama Gang 100.
The decision was made after consultation with Precision Weather Service with the interest of traveling race teams and fans in mind and to ensure the facility is ready for racing on Saturday.
If you purchased a ticket at the track, you may use your wristband for admission on Saturday. If you are unable to attend Saturday’s event, you can mail your wristband to PO Box 740, Lincoln, AL 35096 for a refund. If you purchased a two-day ticket at the track, you will receive a refund for the Friday portion of the event at the ticket booth on Saturday.
If you purchased a Friday ticket online in advance, you will receive a full refund to your original form of payment.
Saturday’s 100-lap, $50,000-to-win finale remains on as scheduled. Grandstand gates open at 2 p.m., World of Outlaws drivers will sign autographs in the midway at 4 p.m., and Hot Laps will begin at 6:30 p.m.
