Karrick, Kaster shine at Lakeside Speedway

Kansas City, Kansas—Lakeside Speedway would start the night with a touching Opening Ceremony honoring Graham Hoffman, a fallen Kansas City Firefighter. Jackson Usher would deliver an outstanding National Anthem honoring our Troops and America to set the stage for a great night of racing action.

Pure Stocks would roar to the track with heat race winners #25 Tim Billing and #20X Don Marrs starting on the front row. Billings would take the lead with Marrs challenging. Winner of two features in a row, #7 Marshall Jewett would get past Marrs to battle Billings with Tim Pruett #46 nipping at the back bumper of Marrs. Kaelob Jones #64 would be in the mix for the front as well racing side by side and taking them three wide at times throughout the feature. Billings had the track figured out and would lead every lap of both his heat race and the feature to park in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane. As Billing would celebrate the win with family and friends, Jewett would race to a solid second place showing with Marrs finishing third. Fourth would belong to Pruett with Jones rounding out the night’s top five.

E-Modifieds would see a loaded field of competitors with #51 Corey Myers and #61 Jeff Degroot both winning their perspective heat races. On the drop of the green flag Myers would set sail and appear to be on his way to victory #4 on the season with great racing behind the leader. Colby Burge #88C would battle Degroot and #8 Devin Dultimeier for position until a caution would send Dultimeier to the rear. As the green was again displayed, Myers would pull ahead with Burge in his tire tracks with #5J Jeff Goepferich Sr and #00 Justin Dunn Battling for position with Dultimeier charging back through the pack. After post-race inspection Colby Burge would pick up his first ever feature win and celebrate in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane with Jeff Degroot racing his way to second. Third place would go to a fast Devin Dultimeier who recovered from am early race mishap as Goepferich Sr was fourth and Justin Dunn #00 an impressive fifth place finish.

USRA Stock Cars never disappoint, and this night would prove the talent and level of competition as #54 Eddie Ingram and #42T Tim Shields would win heat races and start the feature near the front. Ingram would take the early lead until a fast Buz Kaster #54 would pass and take the point with Shields challenging. Dylan Holt #711 would try Kaster high and low, but Kaster would not be shaken and hold a perfect line keeping Holt at bay. Christine Holt would be in the Mix as well putting her #11 in win contention but fade slightly in the later laps. Chris Dishong in the Smith prepared #16S would start last on the field and be the big mover racing to the front in the closing laps. Hall of Famer Kaster would not be denied and park the famous #54 in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane. A big celebration would take place in Victory Lane as Kaster savored the emotional win. Second place would go to Dylan Holt who drove a flawless race as well with the always fast and competitive Dishong third. Fourth would see a great battle with Shields taking the spot from Ingram who placed a solid fifth on the night.

USRA B-Mod heat race winners were #1K Tim Karrick,  #68 Kerry Davis and #1 Kyle Henning. Karrick would take the lead on the drop of the green flag with Jon Sheets #8S falling into second and trying Karrick for the lead. Davis and Mike Taylor III #5T would each take turns challenging but Karrick would continue to pull away. Karrick would race his way to win number two on the 2025 season with Sheets a close second and Davis third. The big mover of the race was #44 Troy Carlyle coming from deep in the field to place fourth with Michael Taylor III rounding out the night’s top five finishers.
