Rain Spoils weekly Saturday racing at Eagle Racing

EAGLE, Nebr.—Mothern Nature had grudgingly maintained a peaceful coexistence with Eagle Raceway throughout the 2025 season through 2 practice nights, the Ice Breaker Challenge, 4 regular season races and the super exciting 3-day High Banks Heist featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. I say grudgingly because there were several nights of very chilly temperatures coupled with brisk winds leading up to last Saturday’s rain shower with 5 laps to go in the final A Feature. We got all of those in, but this past Saturday she had a fit of temper and said, “Not tonight!!!”.

It was 86 degrees as hot laps were being run, and fans were filling the stands for Schools Out for Summer night presented by Celerion and Nebraska Septic when a storm with severe lightning began moving southward towards the track. The fans were told to vacate the stands, and a 30-minute weather delay was announced.
That delay stretched to an hour before the fans were invited back in. They were told to not return to the turn 4 grandstands or the high-rise grandstands in turn 1 as a precaution. The track prep crew began working on the track when it started to sprinkle, slowly becoming harder and harder, finally becoming an old-fashioned frog strangler. The mass exodus began as the temperature had fallen to 60 degrees and the word came that racing for the night had been cancelled.
Next Saturday is the Days of Thunder Clash, presented by Nebraska Realty and Empire Fence.

All 5 IMCA Classes will be competing including the Avid Realty Sportmods, Nebraska’s Best Lawn and Landscape Modifieds, Valentino’s Hobby Stocks and Nebraska Septic Sprint Cars with the A1 Iron IMCA Stock Cars going last with a total purse for their A Feature being boosted to $2000. Ther winner will take home $600 and just starting the A Main gets the driver $150.

Grandstands open at 5:15, hot laps kick off at 5:45 with racing at 6:30. Adult front gate admission is $15, youths 6-12 just $5 and children 5 and under free.
Pit gates open at 3:30 with pit passes costing $30.

If you did not get a refund Saturday, remember to bring your ticket stub or pit band to trade for your new admission.
Hope to see everybody there!!!!
