Mountain Moonshine Classic Next for Lucas Oil Late Models

BATAVIA, Ohio—The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presented by FloRacing returns to Smoky Mountain Speedway on June 13-14 for the Mountain Moonshine Classic presented by East Tennessee Auto Outlet and FK Rod Ends, featuring two nights of exciting racing action.

The festivities will commence on Friday, June 13, for a $10,000-to-win event in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presented by FloRacing. The Sportsman Late Models will also compete for an $800 prize, and the Front-Wheel Drive class will race for $500 to win.

Racing continues on Saturday, June 14, for a chance to win $30,000. The Sportsman Late Models return for another race with an $800 prize, and the Street Stocks will also compete for a $700 prize.

Both nights will feature a full schedule of Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and their respective A-Main for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presented by FloRacing.

All gates will open at 12:00 pm (noon) on both days. The drivers’ meeting will take place at 6:30 pm, followed by hot laps at 7:00 pm each night. On Saturday, June 15, Dirt Racing Outreach will hold a service at the track pavilion starting at 3:30 pm. There will also be a driver’s autograph session from 5:30 pm until 6:15 pm on the concourse.

Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville, Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles, then turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for approximately 2 miles; the racetrack will be on your right. The first entrance is for grandstand parking, while the second entrance provides access to tier parking and the campground. The pit entrance is the third right on Crye Road.

Ricky Thornton Jr. leads the latest Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP standings. Jonathan Davenport trails Thornton by just 15 points, followed by Devin Moran, Hudson O’Neal, and Garrett Alberson, completing the top five.

Donald McIntosh leads the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year chase by 35 points over Daniel Hilsabeck. Dan Ebert is third.
