Tyler Wolff charges to Revival Late Model win at Lakeside Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kansas—July fourth would start with Flags stationed around the grandstands as we prepared for opening ceremonies. Tim Gifford would deliver our Invocation, and the talented Lisa Jorden performing our National Anthem as Don Marrs and Larry Waters carried our Nation’s Colors. Lakeside Speedway would see the largest Kid’s Coin Drop ever on the front stretch during Intermission as the kids took home a lot of cash and had a lot of fun. Special thanks to all that donated and to Brian Dultmeier and X’Factor Motorsports for the bags the kids to put their cash.

Vintage would roll to the track low in number but high on quality as they put on one of the best features of the night. Heat race winner Larry Waters would pilot his 1954 Ford #54 to a front row starting spot along with the always fast #66 of David Isaacs as the green would drop. Isaacs would waste no time charging out front as Waters would mount a charge racing the leader side by side. Don Marrs #00K would start working his way into the picture getting by Waters and closing in on Isaacs. These two veteran drivers would put on a show racing side by side swapping the lead numerous times, racing door to door and never touching. Marrs would make the move and take over the lead seeing the checkers first parking in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane. As Marrs would celebrate the win, Isaacs would finish second with Waters third and #45 Steve Brown rounding out the night’s top four finishers.
Pure Stock would see the points race tighten as Marshall Jewett #7 would sweep the night winning both heat race and feature. Jewett would waste no time getting to the front and hold off challenges from Tim Pruett #46 and the #20X of don Marrs. Big mover of the race was #56 Joseph Smith Jr as he worked past the field to challenge Jewett in the closing laps. Matthew Matsukevich #16 was in the hunt as well as he and Marrs would put on a show changing their positions lap after lap. Jewett would not be denied and claim the Victory with Smith second and Pruett third. Don Marrs would settle for fourth with Matsukevich rounding out the night’s top five.
USRA Stock Cars would roar to the track with heat race winners Justin Custer #33X and #711 Dylan Holt starting up front as the green flag was shown. Custer, coming off a win the week prior, would take the lead with Holt and Jaylen Wettengel #91J challenging. Tyler Cadwallader #69ER, in his first appearance at Lakeside 2025, would be in the mix among the leaders battling with Chris Dishong #16S and Buz Kaster #54 for position. Wettengel would try Custer inside, outside, high, low and everywhere possible but Custer would not be shaken running a flawless feature. Custer would see the checkers first picking up his second win in as many weeks at Lakeside Speedway parking in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane as Wettengel placed second. Third would see newcomer Cadwallader with smoking #16S on the track Dishong salvaging fourth with a sick race car and Kaster coming home in the fifth position.
