Mother Nature Halts Sunday Night Thunder – But Big Events Are Ahead at Double X Speedway
CALIFORNIA, Mo.—Racing fans were once again left looking to the skies as Mother Nature forced the cancellation of the July 6 edition of Sunday Night Thunder at Double X Speedway. The persistent rain in 2025 has not been kind to dirt track enthusiasts, but brighter days—and bigger events—are just ahead.
July 13 – “Race for Riley & Dylan Bias Memorial”
Next Sunday, July 13, the Speedway will host the annual Race for Riley and Dylan Bias Memorial, a heartfelt tribute to two beloved young members of our racing community. The event promises to be a powerful evening of remembrance and excitement, with 360 Winged Sprint Cars, B Modifieds, and Super Stocks—which will be racing for added prize money.
Fans can also enjoy bicycle giveaways for kids, family-friendly activities, and other special events. If you would like to contribute to the evening:
Contact Tara Turpin or Jessica Stratton on Facebook regarding kids’ giveaways
Reach out to Keith Bias for donations toward Super Stock prize money
July 20 – “Racing Back to School” and Tribute to Bill Utz
On Sunday, July 20, Double X Speedway will host “Racing Back to School” Night and a special Tribute to Bill Utz, honoring the legacy of the legendary Sedalia driver. Presented by the Utz family and friends, this event will include:
