8th Annual Belleville 305 Nationals this weekend

BELLEVILLE, Kansas—Belleville, Kansas: Its time for one of the biggest events of the season in 305 Winged Sprint Car Racing, the 8th Annual Belleville High Banks 305 Sprint Car Nationals! Presented to you by Belleville Hometown Lumber, Builders Supply & Home Center.

For this crown jewel open wheel event started in 2018 by United Rebel Sprint Series founder the late great Rick Salem, each edition has brought more cash and prizes, more great competition, and more spectacular racing action. With the 2025 version promising more of the same.

It all starts this Friday night August 1st at the Belleville High Banks, one of the truly great American meccas of speed for night one featuring the first ever Rick Salem Memorial paying 3,000 to the winner, and 350 to start the main event.

Salem, a former top notch open wheel chauffeur, before becoming a very influential player in sprint racing with his 305 series the URSS, was voted into the High Banks Hall of Fame last summer before his untimely passing last fall at age 70.

Before Fridays main event, there will be a “Missing Man” formation to honor one of the most popular racing figures in the history of the High Banks. And will feature his sons Cody & Chad in the pace car with his ashes being spread around Americas fastest dirt track.

On Saturday night August 2nd, the stars and cars of sprint car racing will be back for night number two of the 305 Nationals, culminating with the big 30 lapper paying a whopping 13,000 dollars to the winner! A increase of 6,000 dollars from last year when Kyle Jones claimed the win.

The 13,000 is a significant number as well, because it’s also the largest payout ever for an open wheel winner at Belleville. And that includes winged and non winged sprint cars of any engine sized displacement, Silver Crown machines, and of course the mighty midgets who ran their version of the nationals for 40 straight years.

The “Brinks Truck” reporting to the High Banks this weekend will also include a minimum of 1,000 dollars for anyone starting the main event Saturday night. And 800 dollars for any driver that takes a green flag for a race both Friday and Saturday night.

Those green backs will be fought over by an outstanding group of individuals that will include almost 50 cars and drivers from 11 states. Among that group, the last three winners, will be in attendance including (Arcadia, Oklahomas) Ty Williams, the 2022 victor in his familiar 911 winged sprint car. (Wichita, Kansas) wheelman Jeremy Campbell driving the Peters 51, your 2023 champ. And (Kennedale, Texas) racer Kyle Jones, who won by a whisker last year over Cornhusker gasser Joey Danley of (Lincoln, Nebraska) also back to run in 2025.

With a plethora of racers looking for their first nationals win including, Jadon Bowling of North Carolina, who is tearing it up on the east coast this season.  Jeremy Huish, a Sunflower State speed demon who has won 5 times in the URSS in 2025. And United Rebel Series point leader also from Kansas, Jordan Knight driving the King Foundation 88.

Along with drivers that have excelled in the sprint ranks over the years including, John Carney, Stuart Snyder, Tyler Drueke, Jon Freeman, Tyler Knight, Steven Richardson, Brett Becker, Whit Gastineau, and the veteran of all veterans, Nebraskas Don Droud Jr. racing the Mark Burch 1M. Droud has starred over the years in winged sprints, non winged sprints, and midgets, just to name a few of the contenders.

And you can’t forget the North Central Kansas Fair going on at the same time! That includes the rides, as well as the food, to name just a few attractions.
And last but not least, a visit to the High Banks Hall of Fame and Museum on Highway 81. Where the history of the High Banks is remembered with many exhibits and pictures. As new memories are made just a few miles away at the 8th Annual Belleville High Banks 305 Nationals.
