Kansas City, Kansas—Lakeside Speedway would like to thank our great Sponsor Nextran Truck Center GMC for all the giveaways and added purse added to a great night of racing action and Family Fun. Special thanks to Lisa Burlington Photography, High Maintenance Racewear (Heather Melvin), Nextran, Smith Racing and Racing Boys for their sponsorship of the Flagkids. Thanks to Lisa Jorden for singing our National Anthem and Chad Clancy #57 and Nextran Pace Truck for carrying our Nation’s Colors.
Vintage would take to the track at Lakeside Speedway first on Nextran Truck Center GMC Night with their make up feature. Don Marrs #00K and Larry Waters #54 would start on the front row and launch to the lead racing side by side. Marrs would get the early advantage and lead most of the feature laps with Waters a close second with Mark Evinger #19, in a borrowed car, and Darrin Christy #54X in pursuit. Marrs would lead the entire feature until the white flag lap when his drive shaft decided to break and take him to the pits with a DNF on the night. Second place contender Waters would run over the drive shaft of Marrs puncturing an oil related item soaking the track taking him from the race and win contention. With a green, white, checker finish, Mark Evinger would take the front and lead the lap that mattered picking up the feature win. Darrin Christy with a great run would finish a close second with Jim Thorne in the #113 Green Hornet Thunderbird rounding out the night’s top three finishers.
E-Modified would see the first night of a bounty on #51 Corey Myers as the feature roared to the track. Myers would win his heat race with other heat race winner Jeff Goepferich Sr #5J starting up front alongside as the green flag would fly. Myers would take the early lead with some contact on the start as #6 Zach Boyd and Goepferich would challenge. #9 Josh Boyd would be in the mix to claim the bounty until mechanical issues would force him to retire early. Zach Boyd would take the lead from Myers only to go through the spin cycle in turn one taking him from contention. Myers would again take the lead with Jeff DeGroot #61 challenging along with Hard Charger Award Winner #79J Jason Park closing in. Park would start last in the feature and race his way through the field to challenge late. As the checkers would fall, Corey Myers would again celebrate the win in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane with his 11th overall win of 2025. Second place would go to a fast #8 of Devin Dultmeier with Jason Park racing his way to third from the last starting position. DeGroot would cross the line fourth with Brian Dultmeier #16 finishing a solid fifth place on the night.
Pure Stock would see some of the best racing of the night with a first-time winner standing tall in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane. Marshall Jewett #7 and #56 Joseph Smith Jr would win heat races and start the feature with side-by-side racing action. Smith appeared to be the car to beat early holding off all challengers. Brennan Risley #31 would have a scary night as his throttle would stick heading into turn #1 sending him hard in the wall and flipping the race car. Green would again come out on the speedway with Smith taking the point as Tim Pruett #46 and Kaelob Jones #64 would start a charge to the front. Jones would work Smith on the high side and low side making the pass in turn #2 on the low line taking the top spot. Jones would not look back nor be denied claiming his first ever feature win at Lakeside Speedway entering the elite list of winners. Smith would finish a close second with Jewett third in the feature. Pruett would battle Don Marrs #20X to the line placing fourth with Marrs settling for fifth on the night.
USRA Stock Cars never disappoint and Nextran Night at the Races would not break the trend as heat race winners Dylan Holt #711 and Justin Custer #88 would start on the front row. Custer and Holt would race for the front with Custer gaining the advantage with Holt challenging every lap of competition. Danny Holt, Driving #11, would make his presence felt challenging son Dylan for the second position and holding off the charges of #16S Chris Dishong and #91J Jaylen Wettengel. Custer would lead every lap of the feature and claim win number three in a row at Lakeside Speedway parking in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane. Dylan Holt continues to impress with a solid second place with Danny Holt a very close third. Dishing would use the high line momentum in the closing laps placing fourth with the always fast Wettengel placing fifth in the feature event.
USRA B-Mods would highlight the night with a loaded field of competitors dueling to the checkers. Heat race winners Bill Ruisinger #711 and Chad Clancy #57 would start on the front row setting the stage for a great feature. After a couple rocky starts, the green would fly with Clancy taking the lead with Ruisinger and #68 Kerry Davis nipping at his heels. John Baker #311 was in the mix challenging as the always fast Tim Karrick #1K started his march to the front. Eric Spreer #214 and Mark Shafman in the Sammy Schuler #44S would battle the entire race with great side by side action. Clancy would hold off late race challenges by Karrick and Davis to pick up the feature win and celebrate in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane with Karrick second. Davis would again have a solid night placing third with Spreer fourth as Shafman would again show muscle rounding out the night’s top five finishers.
Vintage would end our night of great racing action as #19 Mark Evinger would win the heat race to start up front in the feature. Evinger would take the lead early with Larry Waters #54 on his back bumper and Jim Thorne #113 in the mix as well. Waters would challenge and take the lead from Evinger appearing to be the car to beat until Evinger would use a crossover move in turn #1 to recapture the front position. Mark Evinger would pick up the feature win with Waters second and Thorne third. Darrin Christy in his #54X Ford 1964 Fairlane would have another solid finish in fourth with #4 Vince Garrett rounding out the night’s top five.
