Karrick, Sheets top Lakeside B-Mods

Kansas City, Kansas—Lakeside Speedway would start one hour later due to the extreme heat and then came the rain. After a delay for track prep to race we would have opening ceremonies as Maria Carroll would honor our Troops and America with a beautiful singing of our National Anthem. We want to thank her and also our Flagkid for the features, Dalton Wright, for their contribution to Lakeside. Intermission would see shirts collected by Brian Dultmeier as we threw them to kids and also a drawing for a giant Sprint Car Tire and other prizes. Congratulations to all our winners and special thanks to Drivers Shali Buck and Troy Wilson for helping and signing autographs for the kids.

Pure Stock would kick the late night of racing action off with #9 Don Marrs, #46 Tim Pruett and #25 Tim Billings all winning their heat races. Ed Noll #15 would take the point only to slide high in turn three near the wall and see several cars pass as Billings would grab the top spot. Marrs and Pruett would take their turns challenging the leader, but Billings would continue to hold the spot until late in the feature. Noll would find the line and start his march to the front passing Marrs, Pruett and Spencer Reiff #7S to gain on Billings. Marshall Jewett #7 would be in the race for the front as well as Noll continued to close in on the leader. Noll would make the move of the race and take the top spot from Billings to capture the win and Park in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane. After post-race inspection, Pruett was second and Marrs would cross the line third. The two number sevens would battle to the checkers with Reiff fourth and Jewett fifth on this night of Pure Stock competition.

Heat race winners for E-Modifieds were #6X Josh Boyd, #0B Blake Bland and #51 Corey Myers to set the lineup for a stellar feature event. Boyd would take the lead early and set a blistering pace as Myers and #88C Kyle Henning would pursue. Jeff Goepferich Sr #5J was a challenger to Boyd as he would race for the front and battle all contenders. Boyd would not be shaken as the caution would fall with Jeff DeGroot going through the spin cycle in turns one and two and reset the field. Boyd would again get a great restart and hold the lead as big mover of the race Jason Park #79J would close in on the leader. Myers would fade slightly in the later laps as Boyd kept up the fast pace to cruise to the win. Not only would Boyd win the feature and park in Nextran Truck Center GMC Victory Lane, he would also collect the Fastaction Photography Bounty of $220. Second place would go to Kyle Henning with Jason Park impressing holding a solid third
on the night. Consistent Driver Goepferich Sr would race to a fourth place showing as Blake Bland would round out the features top five finishers.

Clint Hedge #105 and Chris Dishong #16S would win heat races and set the front row for an action-packed USRA Stock Car Feature. Hedge would take the lead and push his car to the limits by lifting the left front wheel getting all the traction and power to the track. Dishong would fall into second place with three-time winner Justin Custer #88C chasing the leaders. Rodney Schweizer #74 and Justin Seifert #37 would be fast the entire feature battling for position entertaining all fans in attendance. Dishong would challenge Hedge on the last two circuits and get position on the inside leading the lap that counted picking up the feature win. As Dishong and Smith Family Racing Celebrated their sixth feature win of the season in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane, Hedge would settle for second with Custer third. Fourth would see Schweizer as Seifert would impress with a solid top five finish on the night.

USRA B-Mods would see #1 Kyle Henning, #1K Tim Karrick and #57M Aaron Marrant pick up heat race wins in a fast and furious manner on this night of competition. Karrick and Henning would battle for the front with Karrick claiming the lead as Henning fell into second spot with Chad Clancy #57C challenging. John Baker #311 was a very fast contender, racing side by side with the leaders keeping pace up front. Stephen Clancy #12C would race among the leaders as Jon Sheets #8S would be the hard charger moving past cars at a rapid pace. Karrick would hold the front as Chad Clancy would mp0ve into the second spot and challenge late with Baker in the mix as well. Karrick would claim the win with Chad Clancy second and Baker a close third. Fourth would go the hard charging #8S of Sheets with Stephen Clancy racing to a solid fifth place showing on the night.

USRA B-Modified Makeup Feature would see Jon Sheets #8S put his J2 Chassis out front early and take command of the race. Tim Karrick #1K would fall into second as Kerry Davis #68 was one of the faster cars all race. Mark Shafman in the Sammy Schuler prepared #44S continues to impress as he would come through the pack challenging late in the race.  As the checkers would fly, Sheets would pick up the win and celebrate in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane as Davis would cross the line second. Third would go Karrick with Schafman fourth and Kyle Henning #1 rounding out the night’s top five.
