Strong Evening Thunderstorms Cancel Opening Night of Hawkeye 100, Saturday On As Scheduled

MAQUOKETA, Iowa—Due to the severe pop-up thunderstorms bringing heavy rain and flash flooding to the Maquoketa, IA area on Friday evening, officials from the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision and Maquoketa Speedway have agreed to cancel Friday’s portion of the Hawkeye 100.

The decision was made in consultation with Precision Weather Service with the safety of race teams and fans in mind.

Tonight’s concert featuring Dirt Road Rockers will now begin under the pavilion at 8 p.m.

If you purchased tickets in advance, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTix.com account – good for two years – to be used towards any World of Outlaws event available at worldofoutlaws.com/tix. If a credit to your account does not work for you, you have until Sept. 15 to request a refund.

If you bought a single-day Friday ticket ($35 value) you can exchange it for a single-day Saturday ticket for an additional $5 or mail it to 7575 West Winds Blvd. Suite D, Concord, NC 28027 for a refund.

If you bought a two-day ticket or pit pass at the track, you can mail it back for a partial refund after the event.

If you bought a single-day pit pass, you can either mail it back or exchange it for a Saturday pit pass.

Saturday’s Hawkeye 100 finale remains on as scheduled. The World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision will contest a 60-lap, $20,000-to-win, Feature alongside racing in the IMCA Modified, Stock Car and Sport Mod divisions.
