MACON, Ill.—Jacob Denney would lead all thirty laps to earn his seventh career feature win while battling at Macon Speedway, with the POWRi National Midget League, in Night One of Cornfield Combat presented by Start2Finish feature event.
Launching into on-track excitement with twenty-three talented POWRi National Midget entries, Cannon McIntosh would start the action off in a 10.581-second quick-time qualifying lap, with Cannon McIntosh, Jacob Denney, and Gavin Miller notching the heat racing wins.
Opening the feature field would find the high-point qualifier Cannon McIntosh and front-row companion Jacob Denney leading the field as Jacob Denney would gain the initial advantage on the opening lap with the field finding positions in side-by-side action throughout the pack.
Setting sail up front, Jacob Denney would not falter from the front of the field by holding the top spot for all revolutions around Mighty Macon Speedway as action aplenty ensued behind the front-running leader.
“I just knew that we had to get out of the gate early and make some moves,” said Jacob Denney in the Macon Speedway winner’s circle. Adding, “I felt like I could get through lap traffic really well while clearing cars pretty easily. I could put this car anywhere, time to go for two straight tomorrow”.
Remaining in the hunt all event, Cannon McIntosh would place runner-up with Gavin Miller making up the final podium placement. Battling all night, Karter Sarff would finish fourth with rookie of the year leader Colton Robinson rounding out the POWRi National Midget League top five finishers in Night One of the Inaugural Cornfield Combat Presented by Start2Finish at Macon Speedway.
