Nick Hoffman Collects CCSDS Arrowhead Speedway Thursday Checkers

COLCORD, Okla.—The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) kicked off the Sooner State Showdown at Arrowhead Speedway (Colcord, Okla.) on Thursday night, where seventh-starting Nick Hoffman powered his Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 entry to the $10,000 victory.

Hoffman overtook leader Dennis Erb Jr. amid traffic on lap 18 and went on to hold back a rapidly closing Bobby Pierce for his first-career CCSDS victory.

“(The track) changed a lot throughout that race and I got the middle rolling there for a little while, then the top of (turns) one and two was pretty nice, Hoffman said. "I seen (Bobby Pierce) up there, then obviously that (lap-26) caution comes out and lets me restart and get back to the top.”

From the NewVisionCustomShirts.com Pole Position Brian Shirley led the first 12 circuits before Erb Jr. took control for six laps.

Hoffman crossed the finish line 0.410 seconds in front of Pierce and Dennis Erb Jr. with the 17th-starting Tim McCreadie fourth, and Shirley fifth.

Billy Moyer continues to be the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man atop the latest CCSDS standings. Morgan Bagley, B.J. Robinson, Timothy Culp, Eli Ross, Jon Kirby, Jon Mitchell, Kyle Beard, Charlie Cole, and Shane Stephens round out the Top 10 in the latest standings.

Meanwhile, Eli Ross is the point leader in the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year standings.
