MACON, Ill.—Cannon McIntosh would not be denied in exciting the crowd and earning his thirtieth career feature win at Macon Speedway, with the POWRi National Midget League, in Night Two of Cornfield Combat presented by Start2 Finish after leading twenty-four of the thirty-lap feature event.
Beginning the second night of Macon Speedway rushes with talented POWRi National Midget entries, Cannon McIntosh would start the action off in a 10.980-second quick-time qualifying lap, with Gavin Miller, Cannon McIntosh, and Kyle Jones would notch the heat racing wins.
Launching the feature field to green would find the high-point qualifier Cannon McIntosh and Kyle Jones battling as Kyle Jones would gain the initial advantage on the opening lap and hold the top spot for the first six laps in the feature event.
Overtaking for the preferred position on the sixth lap, Cannon McIntosh would overtake Kyle Jones for the top spot as Jacob Denney and Gavin Miller would follow suit with Jones and Karter Sarff all battling within the top five.
Holding steady for the final twenty-four laps, Cannon McIntosh would be masterful at Macon Speedway in earning his thirtieth career feature victory to tie him with Christopher Bell and Bryan Clauson for second on the all-time win list in POWRi history.
“Super special to get to this point in my career, I felt we left some things on the table last night, so it feels good to rebound after a disappointing second place,” said a thrilled Cannon McIntosh in the Macon, Illinois, winner’s circle. Adding, “Feels amazing to put my name in the same category as legends like Christopher Bell and Bryan Clauson. I couldn’t be here without all the great sponsors and the whole KKM team that makes it all possible”.
Keeping pace with the lead pack all night Karter Sarff would score the runner up finish as Jacob Denney recovered from an early race caution to drive back to the final podium placement with onetime leader Kyle Jones finishing fourth and Colton Robinson rounding out the POWRi National Midget League top five finishers in Night Two of the Inaugural Cornfield Combat Presented by Start2Finish at Macon Speedway.
