Xtreme Outlaws Honest Abe Roofing Open Wheel Showdown this weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.—Only two weekends of racing remain as the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota inches closer toward crowning a champion in November.
The Series makes its fourth annual visit to Jacksonville Speedway for the Honest Abe Roofing Open Wheel Showdown on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 3-4, in a weekend packed with activities on and off the track.
Friday’s opening night begins with the Midgets chasing $4,000-to-win through 25 laps around the 1/4-mile oval. After the checkered flag waves, drivers and crews will be treated to food and drinks at the Honest Abe Roofing Cookout.
Then, the Series finishes out the doubleheader weekend in a battle for 30 laps and a $5,000 payday to cap off the time in the “Land of Lincoln” as the road to the Xtreme Outlaw World Championship presented by Glenn Styres Racing becomes clear in sight.
The Xtreme Outlaw Midgets will be joined by local 410 Sprint Cars and the WFO Winged Micro Series through the two nights to solidify the open-wheeled clash in Illinois.

Here are the top storylines to keep an eye on:
Shattered Ceiling - Jacob Denney has enjoyed an Xtreme Outlaw Midget season that a driver could only dream of, earning double-digit wins (10) for second all-time, 18 top fives in 20 races, and top-10 results in every Feature for a 326-point lead over his closest competition with four races yet to be decided.
The Galloway, OH driver exemplified his prowess behind the wheel of the No. 67 JBL Audio Toyota at Doe Run Raceway and Highland Speedway, leading every Feature lap at the two tracks to earn the Xtreme-POWRi Challenge Series championship. Suppose you only take Denney’s 179 laps led this season, it would put him fifth on the all-time Series laps led list.
Denney’s prior visits to Jacksonville play in his favor, earning his first career Series podium in 2022, then winning his first track Feature with POWRi in 2024. The Honest Abe Roofing Open Wheel Showdown will mark one year since his debut for Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports (KKM).
Fightin’ Illini - The weekend in the Illinois homestead has several natives seeking to defend home turf against the drivers of the Xtreme Outlaw Midgets.
Two of the Illinois faithful expected to lead the charge for their second Series track win in the weekend include Mason City’s Karter Sarff and Pocohontas native Zach Daum. Sarff won the only Series appearance in 2023, and Daum won the doubleheader opener in 2024.
Springfield, IL native Chase McDermand is seeking his first win at Jacksonville, and in the 2025 Xtreme Outlaw season, after leaving the Challenge Series finale at Highland Speedway with a second-place performance.
Among the “Prairie State” natives that will head to West Central Illinois to chase their first Series win are Belleville, IL’s Alex Midkiff, Decatur, IL natives Devin Camfield and David Camfield, Jr., New Berlin, IL veteran Jake Neuman, and Auburn, IL’s Mitchell Davis.
Keep It Honest - Fittingly held in the “Land of Lincoln,” Honest Abe Roofing is boosting the weekend at Jacksonville Speedway with their support for the event and the activities happening around the facility ahead of the weekend.
While the Indiana-based company has provided drivers and teams with the Honest Abe Cookout for every 2025 Xtreme Outlaw doubleheader, Saturday’s Honest Abe Roofing Pinewood Derby returns for fans and race teams to take part in. Between the two classes of Box Stock and Super Stock, a $500 overall purse is distributed to the top three in each, with first place receiving $150, second place earning $75, and third place receiving $25.
Honest Abe Roofing CEO Kevin Newton made his Xtreme Outlaw Midget debut as a competitor in the 2024 finale weekend at Jacksonville. One year later, his company will play a key role in the events to happen on and off the track.
Final Four - The remaining quartet of Xtreme Outlaw Midget races of the 2025 season will highlight a mixed bag of veterans and rookies that look to secure a first-time Feature victory at the end of the season's campaign.
While the Illinois Midget veterans of Daum and McDermand are fighting for their first win of the 2025 season, Series rookies, including Colton Robinson, Michael Faccinto, Alex Karpowicz, Hayden Wise, and Brandon Carr, are all making their first visit to Jacksonville to chase a maiden triumph.
Robinson, the KKM pilot from Titusville, FL, owns the best average finish (8.85) on a 1/4-mile oval of the rookies that haven’t won. Faccinto, the Hanford, CA driver for Trifecta Motorsports, has built up his comfort on the larger tracks with two top fives in the last three Features to improve his average finish to 9.14.
