Knoxville, Huset’s Set to Host Memorial Day Weekend Doubleheader
CONCORD, N.C.—The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at Knoxville Raceway and Huset’s Speedway in 2026.
For the first time in Series history, the two premier dirt tracks will host a doubleheader event during the greatest weekend in motorsports, with an added visit to Knoxville on Saturday, May 23, and Huset’s on Sunday, May 24.
Along with creating a new destination weekend for race fans, both events will give race teams something else to celebrate with back-to-back $20,000 paydays on the line.
“This was an exciting opportunity to give fans and teams a new special event during Memorial Day Weekend, while also expanding upon our relationships with the World of Outlaws and Huset’s Speedway,” said John McCoy, Knoxville Raceway Race Director. “We’ve had great success collaborating with Tod Quiring, Doug Johnson, and the Huset’s Speedway team in the past and look forward to supporting this weekend.”
“As we continue to build marquee events at Huset’s Speedway, the doubleheader with Knoxville Raceway was a great opportunity to create a new Memorial Day Weekend tradition for both sides of the South Dakota/Iowa border,” added Doug Johnson, Huset’s Speedway general manager. “There’s always an added level of excitement when the World of Outlaws come to town, and we’re looking forward to giving fans another memorable weekend with The Greatest Show on Dirt.”
The Memorial Day Weekend events build upon the World of Outlaws’ schedule of marquee races at Knoxville and Huset’s, such as the already announced Huset’s Hustle, June 17-18, the Huset’s High Bank Nationals, June 19-20, and the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s, Aug. 12-15.
The World of Outlaws’ connection to both tracks dates back to the early history of the Series, as the Outlaws first visited Knoxville Raceway during its inaugural season in 1978 and visited Huset’s Speedway for the first time in 1983. The Series has raced at Knoxville in May 11 times and at Huset’s in May three times. While this event will be the first time the two tracks have hosted Memorial Day Weekend together, the World of Outlaws did visit Knoxville during Memorial Day Weekend in 1981 with Doug Wolfgang winning on Friday and Sammy Swindell winning on Saturday.
