Friday’s Hangtown 100 Opener Rained Out, Saturday On as Scheduled at Placerville
PLACERVILLE, Calif.—Wet grounds and a forecast for more rain has forced cancellation of the Friday, November 14, Hangtown 100 opening night event at California’s Placerville Speedway.
Saturday night’s November 15 Hangtown 100 program is on as scheduled, featuring a 100-lap event for the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship, plus the BCRA Lightning Sprints.
Speedway officials are aware what the forecast and radar look like for Saturday’s event. An official decision will be made Saturday morning at 8am in regard to running that night’s program.
“The forecast has continued to change for both today and tomorrow, so we felt it was in the best interest to call off tonight’s race,” said Placerville Speedway Promoter Scott Russell. “We know how the forecast looks and are going to decide tomorrow morning if we will run on Saturday. With teams already here, we are going to still plan on tomorrow and cross our fingers that the forecast changes.”
On Saturday, the pit gate will open at Noon Pacific Time, with the front gate opening at 4pm. The drivers meeting will take place at 4pm with cars set to hit the track at 5pm.
Friday night ticket holders will receive refunds automatically through Event Sprout.
