Midwest Lightning Sprints is the oldest sanctioning body in the Kansas City area having been around since 1988.  The 2026 season will be the 39th year for the 501c3 non profit organization.  The 1000 cc motorcycle engine powered open wheeled cars will race 20+ times at various tracks around the KC area.  The recent surge in growth has made the competition extremely close in these high speed winged racecars.
