CONCORD, N.C.—The first new addition to the 2026 World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision has been finalized, and it comes in the form of 17-year-old Trey Mills.
The St. Augustine, FL native has been on a rapid rise through the Late Model ranks since making his first Crate Late Model start at age 11, with three seasons under his belt in the Super Late Model ranks. After years of running a regional-based schedule, Mills is set to embark on the biggest challenge of his young career with a full season on the road with The Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet.
“We’ve been running really good at all the big races that we went to, so I felt like it was only right to take that next step,” Mills said. “I’ve been racing regional Supers for three years now, so I really feel like this next year is the perfect time to take that next step. It’s also going to be my last year racing for my parents, so they’re doing everything they can to get me the exposure that I need. Just trying to get me out on the road so I can show my full talent, my full potential and maybe pick up a ride.”
Mills did more traveling in 2025 than ever before, running the full DIRTcar Summer Nationals schedule. After five weeks of nonstop racing, Mills finished the season fifth in points with a win to his credit in one of the Hell Tour’s biggest events, the Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway. Much like several other young Late Model drivers before him, the Summer Nationals grind taught Mills plenty of lessons that will serve him well as he sets out on the World of Outlaws tour.
“It definitely helped us a ton,” Mills said. “I got a lot better as a driver, me and my crew chief, we got our communication better just because we were racing every single night. I feel like it overall benefitted our team drastically. That was one of the main reasons why we ran the Hell Tour, just get me seat time at tracks that I hadn’t been to, because a lot of the Hell Tour tracks are Outlaw tracks as well.”
Mills knows that the southeastern portion of the schedule will likely present his best chances at success in 2026, and there’s one track in particular that’s circled on his calendar. His highest-paying victory to date came with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series in September at Magnolia Motor Speedway, a track that will host the World of Outlaws for the first time in March.
“I won the biggest race of my career this year at Magnolia, $20,000, so I’m definitely looking forward to going back to Magnolia,” Mills said. “I always run good at Senoia [Raceway], so a lot of the southern tracks is where I feel like I can shine against the big guys.”
Like all other newcomers to the World of Outlaws, Mills has his sights set on the MD3 Rookie of the Year Award at the end of the season. But he also wants more. Mills has already proven he can contend with the best in the nation, finishing top 10 in his third-career Series start at Talladega Short Track in 2025. Next season, Mills doesn’t want to merely contend – he wants to win.
“Our main goal is to just win Rookie of the Year, and then to win one race with the Outlaws,” Mills said.
Mills will begin his rookie year with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision at Volusia Speedway Park during DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals (Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 22-24) and Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals (Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 12-14).
