New events, traditional specials highlight 20th anniversary Lucas Oil Speedway schedule

WHEATLAND, MO.—Lucas Oil Speedway has finalized its schedule for the 2026 season with a series of special events and new races and concepts that will help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Diamond of Dirt Tracks.

Along with the previously announced four-race open wheel “Road to the Hockett” mini-series leading into the 16th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial and the new “Challenge Cup” to determine track champions in five core divisions, here are some other dates to circle on the calendar when planning for 2026:

The Inaugural “Salute to Forrest” will pay tribute to the late Forrest Lucas, founder of Lucas Oil and Lucas Oil Speedway. It will be held on Friday, July 10th as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visits for the first of a weekend doubleheader. The 20th annual CMH Diamond Nationals are set for the next night on Saturday, July 11th.

The 34th annual Show-Me 100 is set for May 21-23 with Super Stocks running as the support class on May 22nd and Stock Cars on May 23rd.

Return of the MLRA finds the rejuvenated Late Model series visiting twice with the Spring Nationals’ doubleheader set for April 10-11 and the Ron Jenkins Memorial another twin bill on Sept. 4-5.

Big Rig Truck Racing will make its debut at Lucas Oil Speedway’s oval May 30th with Late Models, USRA Modifieds and Super Stocks also on the program.

The 3rd annual Kubota High Limit Racing Diamond Classic is set for April 18th. The elite 410 winged sprint car series, as was previously announced, will be part of the Hockett-McMillin Memorial (co-sanctioned with POWRi 410s) Sept. 17-19.

The MARS Late Model Series is set for its first Lucas Oil Speedway appearance, coming for the Fall Nationals Oct. 8-10. The Late Models will join the 10th annual Super Stocks Big Buck in the big, co-headline program.

Kicking off the season will be the USMTS King of America, with B Mods also on the schedule, March 26-28. The USMTS 17th annual Show-Me Shootout Presented by Foley Equipment is set for Aug. 7-8.

The 13th annual USRA Fall Nationals return for its multi-night extravaganza Sept. 29-Oct. 3 with Modifieds, B Mods, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Tuners.

Short Course Off Road racing is set for April 17-19 (Outlaw Series) along with the Show-Me Off Road Shootout May 1-3, Short Course Outlaw Series June 26-28 and Nov. 20-22.

Friday Night Frenzy featuring the Red N Tacky 150 for Enduros is June 26th. Legends, Midwest Mods and Super Stocks also will be in action. For the Midwest Mods, it’s the first of two appearances in 2026 with the other Sept. 4 during the Ron Jenkins Memorial weekend.

Legend cars will be making two appearances during the season, on the Friday portion of the Late Model Spring Nationals on April 10th and as part of Friday Night Frenzy on June 26th.

The always-popular Thursday Night Thunder, which features Kids Night bicycle giveaway and post-race fireworks, will be July 2nd. The Heartland Modified Tour will be joined by Late Models, Stock Cars and B Mods.

“We are excited to not only bring back some of the annual staples in the Lucas Oil Speedway schedule but also add some exciting new events and series. We feel like this year's schedule is a great balance of those two worlds,“ said Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager, Casey Shuman.

There are currently ongoing discussions for possible drag boat events on Lake Lucas for 2026. Stay tuned to Lucas Oil Speedway social channels for new details should opportunities materialize.
