Drivers competing in the Heartland Late Model Tour are encouraged to purchase a full POWRi Competitor License through POWRi. Drivers without a full license may purchase a temporary POWRi license at check-in for $30 per race.

2026 Race Procedure Updates

Several race procedure updates and language clarifications will also take effect for the upcoming season.

B-Main Time Limit

B-Main events will now be 12 laps in distance or a 12-minute time limit, whichever comes first.  The clock will begin when the initial green flag is waved and continues to run during green or yellow flag conditions. Once time expires, the race will conclude naturally or with a two-lap green-white-checker finish at the next caution.

Emergency Provisionals

Series provisionals will now be referred to as “Emergency Provisionals.”

Up to four emergency provisional starters may be added to the A-Main.

Eligible drivers must maintain at least 80% attendance and must have attempted to qualify through the event program.

Drivers maintaining 100% attendance are not limited in the number of provisionals they may use during the season, while drivers at the minimum attendance threshold may use up to three per season.

For the first two events of the season, emergency provisional priority will be determined by the previous season’s championship standings.

Restart Procedure

Restart procedures have also been clarified:

Drivers must line up nose-to-tail for all restarts.

The leader may accelerate at will in Turns 3 or 4 (only on restarts).

Drivers may not pass until exiting the start zone in Turn 4; doing so will be ruled a jump start.

Additional minor rule clarifications are included in the 2026 Heartland Promotions series handbook, and teams are strongly encouraged to review the updated guidelines prior to the season.

With the 2026 season approaching, Heartland Promotions officials look forward to another competitive year across its touring divisions and encourage drivers to complete their registrations early as schedules and event details continue to be finalized.
