USMTS Amarillo Ambush Postponed; Rescheduled for August 21–22
AMARILLO, Texas—Officials with the Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt.com and Route 66 Motor Speedway have announced that the 13th Annual Amarillo Ambush, originally scheduled for May 1–2, has been postponed due to a forecast of cold temperatures and heavy rain in the Amarillo area.
“With the temperatures and rain in the forecast, along with the high cost of diesel fuel, we feel it’s in the best interest of our teams and fans to postpone this event,” said USMTS President Todd Staley.
Series and track officials have worked together to secure a new date, with the Amarillo Ambush now set for August 21–22 at Route 66 Motor Speedway.
Fans and teams can now turn their attention to the next stop on the 2026 schedule, the 2nd Annual Red, White & Blue Nationals, set for May 8–9 at Tri-State Speedway. The highly anticipated event will feature two nights of intense USMTS racing action as the nation’s best Modified drivers continue their championship chase.
Additional event details and updates will be released in the coming days. Fans are encouraged to follow USMTS social media channels and visit USMTS-Racing.com for the latest information.
