Rain Postpones Summer Nationals at Kankakee County, Peoria
KANKAKEE, Ill.—Due to heavy rain already received throughout the week and weather models showing additional rainfall, the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Models and DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals events at Kankakee County Speedway (June 10) and Peoria Speedway (June 11) have been postponed.
The decision was made keeping the best interests of drivers and fans in mind, with thunderstorms projected around race time at Kankakee tonight, and the Peoria pit area already flooded and needing time to dry.
Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park, originally scheduled to host both tours on Monday, June 22, will not have the track ready in time for their race date and has decided to cancel their program. Peoria has agreed to take the June 22 date, and Kankakee will fill the open date on Monday, July 6. Both Peoria and Kankakee will host the Late Models and Summit Modifieds.
Those who purchased tickets in advance to the event at Peoria can use those tickets for the new June 22 date.
Now with back-to-back off days in Week 1, the Late Models and Summit Modifieds will resume competition at Coles County Speedway in Mattoon, IL, on Friday, June 12. Tickets for the event will be sold at the track.
How can you watch the DIRTcar Summer Nationals and Summit Modifieds? Every race is streamed live on DIRTVision.
