POWRi WAR Sprint League Return to US 36 Raceway Canceled Due to Weekly Rainfall
BELLEVILLE, Ill.—Persistent weekly precipitation blended with additional weather systems continuing to move through Northwest Missouri has forced POWRi League and track officials to cancel the scheduled return of the POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League to US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri.
It’s always frustrating to lose an event at a high-banked facility like US 36 Raceway, especially with how competitive the wingless racing has been this season. With steady rainfall throughout the week and more weather expected to impact the area Thursday afternoon, officials made the proactive decision while keeping in mind the overhead and travel commitments teams face each weekend, allowing everyone the opportunity to save equipment and expenses for a better racing window.
With facility saturation levels rising and an unstable forecast remaining in place, series and track management prioritized travel logistics for teams and fans when making the early cancelation call. The single-day event will not be rescheduled due to calendar limitations.
Championship points implications now shift toward the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” as the league sets its sights on the remaining summer highlights:
Saturday, June 27: Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, MO) — Road to the Hockett Round 2
Saturday, August 1: Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, MO) — Road to the Hockett Round 3
Saturday, August 22: Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, MO) — Road to the Hockett Round 4
Thursday, September 17 - Saturday, September 19: Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, MO) — 16th Annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial
