Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame Flagger Doug Clark Passes Away at 73
KNOXVILLE, Ia.—Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame flagger Doug Clark has passed away at the age of 73.
Clark’s death was confirmed by his son Justin Clark on social media Friday, citing recent health issues. Clark, who is one of the most notable and famous flaggers in dirt track racing history, flagged for 45 years at various tracks, including Huset’s Speedway and Knoxville Raceway before flagging his last race in 2022. Clark is a member of the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame, South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame, and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
Knoxville Raceway released a social media post Friday which states “We are saddened to share the news that our longtime friend and Hall of Fame flagman, Doug Clark, passed away today.
Doug was a true legend and a beloved part of our racing family. His passion, dedication, and presence at the track will be deeply missed.”
Clark began his career at I-90 Speedway in Hartford.
