(Rossburg, OH) -- The richest payday in the history of Sprint Car racing goes to Logan Schuchart. Thursday night, the Hanover, Pennsylvania driver led all 50 laps on his way to a $1,002,023 at Eldora Speedway.

It's the first crown jewel win of his career and he accomplished it by winning his heat race then drawing the pole position of a race slowed just three times, including a midway break at lap 20.

Schuchart chose the inside each time on the double file restarts which would be to his advantage every time. His margin of victory over second place and fellow front row starter Carson Macedo was 3.5 seconds.

"One of my biggest dreams was to win the Kings Royal because no one in my family has ever won it, and we still haven't won it but to win a million dollars at Eldora Speedway is right up there." a smiling Schuchart said following the wild victory lane celebration.

The race saw it's first stoppage on the opening lap when Cole Duncun smacked the first turn wall. Following the complete restart, the race ran clean to lap 20 when the planned break occurred when teams were allowed to fuel and change tires.

The biggest incident of the night and the entire two-day event occurred just after the double file restart when Aaron Reutzel spun sideways in turn one, collecting Kyle Larson, Gio Scelzi, Spencer Bayston and Lachlan McHugh, who took the wildest flip of the three cars that got upside down. No one was hurt.

Macedo and Brad Sweet waged a torrid battle for second as did David Gravel and Brian Brown for fourth.

"I tried to just run smooth consistent laps," said Schuchart. "I knew where I wanted to run on the race track and I knew if I hit my marks it was going to be hard for anyone to run me down, especially in traffic.

"Crossing that finish line was an amazing feeling which got even better in victory lane. It's just wild to think a sprint car race on dirt can pay a million dollars to win."

Macedo collected $100,000 for runner-up honors.

Sweet ended up third ahead of Gravel. Rico Abreu passed Brown late for fifth.

Buddy Kofoid was the biggest mover of the race coming form 20th to seventh. Donny Schatz, Justin Peck and James McFadden rounded out the top-ten.
