NASCAR postpones Xfinity race until Sunday

LAS VEGAS—NASCAR postponed Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway due to rain.

The Xfinity Series race will resume following Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Pennzoil 400 and will be televised on FOX Sports 2 approximately one hour after the checkered flag.

Inclement weather delayed the start of the race by just over an hour. Myatt Snyder led the field to green but Chase Briscoe grabbed the lead on the first lap. Justin Allgaier passed Briscoe for the lead on Lap 3.

Daniel Hemric, in his return to the Xfinity Series, was running fourth when he hit the front stretch wall to trigger the first caution on Lap 19. Allgaier lost the lead when he struggled in the pits.

Briscoe regained the point when the race returned to green on Lap 22 and held on for the first stage win.

The leaders pit as NASCAR red-flagged the race for rain on Lap 47. Joe Graf Jr., who remained on the track, assumed the lead. NASCAR called the race on Lap 50.

“The car was good after the first stop,” said Briscoe, who led a race-high 27 laps. “Hopefully, we can get going. I’m curious how much different the track will be.”
