Joey Logano is still winning.
Although NASCAR action has been suspended due to Covid-19, through the Joey Logano Foundation—and in partnership with Bobbee O’s BBQ—the driver is proving why he’s a champion on and off the track.
From March 19 through April 2, any child under the age of 18 can receive a free dinner from the kid’s menu at the Charlotte restaurant located at 9401 Statesville Road. While Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools continue to provide students with grab-and-go meals—breakfast and lunch from Monday through Friday (lunch@cms.k12.nc.us)—Logano hopes to fill the void.
“Part of the Joey Logano Foundation’s mission is to inspire others to live a life of generosity, and my hope is that by providing free kids' meals to the children of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, this is a catalyst for others to be inspired to give back during this pandemic.
“Brittany (Logano's wife) and I call Charlotte home, and we felt this was just a small way to express our support and appreciation for this great community. Our hope is that it relieves some stress and hardship caused by this national health crisis.”
The offer is limited to one meal per day. Given the current health restrictions, the meals will be take-out or curbside delivery only. (www.bobbeeosbbq.com)
Logano, 29, established the Joey Logano Foundation in 2013, the same year he joined Team Penske. After leaving Joe Gibbs Racing—and receiving a fresh start with Penske—Logano established the foundation and has worked to offer second chances to others. The non-profit has invested more than $3 million and impacted the lives of more than 250,000 children and young adults.
With wins at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway this season, the 2018 NASCAR Cup champion elevated his career victory total to 25. Logano is currently second in the standings.
