Kyle Larson will carry the Nations Guard colors on the No. 5 Chevrolet when he makes his maiden voyage with Hendrick Motorsports at Daytona International Speedway next month.
Nations Guard describes itself as providing car dealerships turnkey packages for a Dealer Owned Warranty Company.
Larson tweeted, “Thankful and excited to kick off the season in this No.5 @NationsGuard Chevy!”
Following one of the most remarkable runs on dirt last year—where Larson won 46 races in a variety of vehicles from midgets to late models—the 28-year-old continued his winning ways in 2021. He started January with his second Chili Bowl Nationals victory then won the first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season opener on Saturday night at All-Tech Raceway.
Larson said the extra-curricular racing might be the last for a while as he embarks on his seventh season on the Cup tour. In 219 starts with Chip Ganassi Racing, Larson had six wins, 56 top fives and 101 top 10s.
But now he’s thrilled about starting a new chapter with a powerhouse such as Hendrick Motorsports.
“I’m just really excited and ready to get going,” Larson said. “Trying to do as much simulator stuff and just hanging out at the shop in the off-season to make sure I’m best prepared for February.”
